the architect

Tim is an architect from Australia who has been living and working in Hamburg since 2014. he is a founding partner with the Hamburg based practise “Kubit” and owner of his own architectural studio “Joshua Brook Architektur”.

Tim strives to create inspiring spaces for people to live and work in, with a strong focus on natural materials, and sustainable building practises. collaborating with brave clients, talented creatives and experienced craftsman make projects better.

 

the story

 

the Quickborn-Hasloh parish funded an architecture competition to find the best design for their new church and community centre. Tim Pardoe collaborated with MMST Architects to design the competition winning entry.

conceived using archetypal forms and natural materials, this clear and simple design combined with an economical yet flexible floorplan was completed in 2018. the limited space is used extremely well and can cater to the needs of the local community. the design is modern, spacious and welcoming to everyone.

a spacious and flexible interior with a cross subtly integrated into the back wall.

clear lines and warm light create a welcoming atmosphere and reveal the bells that have been inherited from the old building.
